Bella Davison was born at 23 weeks gestation – and is now a happy, thriving little girl
FamilyVoice Victoria director Peter Stevens is urging Victorian MPs to support Rachel Carling-Jenkins’ Infant Viability Bill when a vote is due next month.
“The preamble of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – ratified by Australia – says ‘the child… needs special safeguards and care, including appropriate legal protection, before as well as after birth’,” Mr Stevens said.
“Yet our current Victorian law provides no such protection. Unborn babies older than little Bella in the photo above (23 weeks) can be aborted – even though they are fully viable.
“Let’s bring compassion to our legislation. Pass this life-affirming bill!”
