Legal euthanasia: never safe

Tasmanian MPs should hear Professor Nicholas Tonti-Filippini out before thinking of supporting Tasmania's Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2013.

Professor Tonti-Filippini, Associate Dean and Head of Bioethics at the JP II Institute provides compelling arguments on why euthanasia legislation cannot be made safe and why such legislation is inherently discriminatory to persons with chronic illnesses. He himself suffers from a chronic illness, emphasises that euthanasia legislation places a burden on certain groups of persons whose lives then become conditional on them holding to their desire to stay alive.
