Supplementary Submission on the Freedom of Religion and Belief in the 21st Century in Australia to the Australian Human Rights Commission. It involves: On 21 December 2008 FamilyVoice Australia lodged a submission in response to the discussion paper Freedom of Religion and Belief in the 21st Century in Australia. However, the discussion paper does report on the recommendations from the Commission’s 1998 report Article 18: Freedom of Religion and Belief into Article 18, which includes a number of recommendations relating to a proposed Religious Freedom
Act. Recommendation 2.1 states “The Commonwealth Parliament should enact a Religious Freedom Act which, among other things, recognises and gives effect to the right to freedom of religion and belief.”... This supplementary submission addresses this recommendation directly.
