“Copper Coast councillors deserve congratulations for responding to huge community concern by voting this week to overturn their earlier decision to fly the rainbow flag,” FamilyVoice Australia research officer Ros Phillips said today.
On 8 March 2012, an earnest 22-year-old American named Matthew Vines delivered an address entitled The Bible and Homosexuality.
He claimed his research into the biblical texts on homosexuality had led him to conclude that the Bible does not condemn loving homosexual relationships.
Vines’s address spread like wildfire. Within six months, his YouTube video was viewed 350,000 times and was translated into six languages. He is now training 50 young Christians to go into churches and persuade congregations that the Bible says “faithful gays are OK”.
But is Vines’s examination of the Bible passages faithful to the truth?
